# Delete a macro — Zendesk

1. In Admin Center, click **Workspaces** in the sidebar, then select **Agent tools → Macros**.
2. If the macro is currently active, select it and **Deactivate** it first (macros can only be deleted once deactivated); clear the **Active** filter to see deactivated macros.
3. Select the checkbox next to the deactivated macro's name.
4. Choose **Delete**.

End state: the macro is permanently removed and can't be recovered. Agents can only delete their own personal macros; admins can delete personal or shared macros.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
