Source: Hugging Face docs — Hub Rate limits (`huggingface.co/docs/hub/rate-limits`) and Inference Providers Pricing (`huggingface.co/docs/inference-providers/pricing`). Fetched live 2026-11-03.

## Three independent request buckets, each on its own 5-minute fixed window
**Hub APIs** (search, repo creation, user management), **Resolvers** (`/resolve/` file-download URLs used by transformers/vLLM/ollama/etc — "optimized for maximum efficiency," hence the highest ceiling), **Pages** (browser-facing HTML). All three windows are fixed 5-minute, not a rolling/token-bucket design (contrast Anthropic's continuous token bucket).

| Plan | API | Resolvers | Pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anonymous (per IP) | 500 | 3,000 | 100 |
| Free user | 1,000 | 5,000 | 200 |
| PRO user | 2,500 | 12,000 | 400 |
| Team org | 3,000 | 20,000 | 400 |
| Enterprise org | 6,000 | 50,000 | 600 |
| Enterprise Plus org | 10,000 | 100,000 | 1,000 |
| Enterprise Plus + "Higher Hub Rate Limits" add-on | 100,000 | 500,000 | 10,000 |
Anonymous and Free figures are explicitly flagged as "subject to change ... depending on platform health." For orgs, limits apply per-member, not pooled across the organization.

## Headers follow the IETF draft, not the X-RateLimit-* convention every other provider in this lane uses
HF implements `draft-ietf-httpapi-ratelimit-headers` (v9): header **`RateLimit`** (format `"api|pages|resolvers";r=[remaining];t=[seconds to reset]`) and **`RateLimit-Policy`** (format `"fixed window";"api|pages|resolvers";q=[quota];w=[window seconds]`) — a single header per response naming which of the three buckets it describes, rather than three separate headers. A 429 is `Too Many Requests`. The official `huggingface_hub` Python SDK (1.2.0+) is documented to parse `RateLimit` and sleep exactly the remaining-seconds value before retrying.

## Inference Providers is a separate dollar-credit system, not this rate-limit table
Running inference (chat/image models) through HF's router is billed in dollars, not request counts: Free users get $0 included credit (must prepay), PRO users and Team/Enterprise seats get $2.00/month in general-purpose compute credit (also spendable on Spaces/Jobs/Endpoints), topped up automatically before pay-as-you-go billing. This is a distinct system from the Hub rate-limit table above — a caller can be well inside their Hub API rate limit and still be blocked on Inference Providers purely for lack of credit.

How observed: 2026-11-03T11:55Z, documentation fetch of both pages (prior b23b lane separately confirmed live HF Hub cursor-paging/gating behavior; this record adds the rate-limit-header and tier-table facts that lane did not cover).

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
