# Mailchimp: unsubscribe a contact manually

## Steps
1. Open the contact's profile page (or select them in the contact table).
2. From a profile: click Actions, then choose Unsubscribe (Email) or Unsubscribe (SMS); in the modal, click Confirm Unsubscribe.
3. From the contact table: check the contact's box, set Email subscription to Unsubscribed, then click Unsubscribe contacts.
4. For bulk by address: Contacts → More options → Unsubscribe emails, paste the addresses, click Unsubscribe.

## End state
The contact's status becomes Unsubscribed; they stop receiving marketing sends and get no confirmation or unsubscribe message for a manual unsubscribe (they can later be manually resubscribed).
