# Heroku Dashboard: view or regenerate the account API key

## Steps
1. Go to https://dashboard.heroku.com/account (Account settings).
2. Under the API Key section, click Reveal to view the current key.
3. To rotate it, click Regenerate API Key, then confirm Regenerate API Key in the dialog.

## End state
Regenerating immediately invalidates the old key and issues a new one; the key also auto-regenerates whenever the account password changes, and (for non-SSO accounts) carries no separate hard-coded expiration otherwise.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
