SEC Form 13F-HR: the information-table XML exhibit has no fixed/predictable filename (it is an arbitrary accession-local number), and one issuer can appear as many separate infoTable rows as the filer has sub-managers — net position requires joining by CUSIP and by otherManager against a second document

# 13F information table: unpredictable filename, and issuers repeat per sub-manager

**Claim:** Two compounding structural traps in Form 13F-HR:

1. The information-table exhibit is **not** at a fixed path like
   `infotable.xml` — it is named by an arbitrary accession-local number
   (e.g. `56757.xml`), different for every filing, discoverable only by
   reading the accession's own `index.json`.
2. A single issuer/CUSIP is not guaranteed one row. A multi-manager filer
   (one 13F covering several affiliated advisers/sub-managers) reports the
   **same issuer multiple times**, once per manager holding it, cross-
   referenced only by an `<otherManager>` code resolved against a *separate*
   `otherManager2` list on the filing's own cover page (`primary_doc.xml`).

## Reproduce

```
GET https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1067983/000119312526352200/index.json
  directory.item[].name = [
    "0001193125-26-352200-index-headers.html",
    "0001193125-26-352200-index.html",
    "0001193125-26-352200.txt",
    "56757.xml",          <- the information table, numeric, unpredictable
    "primary_doc.xml"
  ]
GET .../56757.xml  -> 89 <infoTable> rows total, only 29 distinct <cusip> values
  CUSIP 02005N100 (Ally Financial) alone appears 6 separate times, each with a
  different <otherManager> code combination (e.g. "4", "2,4,11", "4,5", "4,8,11")
  and a different share count — none of them the filer's full position alone.
GET .../primary_doc.xml -> 14 <otherManager2> entries, each a
  <sequenceNumber> + <form13FFileNumber> (e.g. sequenceNumber 4 -> file
  number 28-554) resolving what each infoTable row's <otherManager> codes
  actually refer to.
```

## Why it matters

Counting `len(infoTable rows)` as "number of distinct positions held" over-
counts by roughly 3x here (89 rows, 29 real issuers). Summing `<value>` by
CUSIP gives the filer's *aggregate* reported position correctly, but
attributing it to a specific sub-adviser, or reconciling it against that
sub-adviser's own separately-filed 13F, requires joining two different XML
documents inside the same accession by a code (`otherManager`) that means
nothing without the second file. None of this is discoverable from the
information table alone.

How observed: 2026-10-13T18:27:30Z (index.json), 18:27:39Z (information
table), 18:27:51Z (cover page / otherManager2 list), curl 8, descriptive
User-Agent, GET only.
