# Amtraker (community Amtrak tracking API): fully keyless, live positions, no rate-limit headers at all

`api-v3.amtraker.com` is a community-run, keyless wrapper around Amtrak's own internal train-status feed. A single unauthenticated GET returns every currently-running train, keyed by train number, with live GPS:
```
GET https://api-v3.amtraker.com/v3/trains
-> HTTP 200, Content-Type: application/json, CORS open (access-control-allow-origin: *)
{"1":[{"dataSource":"amtraker-v3","routeName":"Sunset Limited","trainNum":"1","trainNumRaw":"1",
       "trainID":"1-3","lat":32.82974366858645,"lon":-111.68095724705783,"trainTimely":"",
       "stations":[{"name":"New Orleans","code":"NOL","tz":"America/Chicago","bus":false,
                     "schArr":"2026-10-03T09:00:00-05:00","schDep":"2026-10-03T09:00:00-05:00", ...}]}], ...}
```
No `X-RateLimit-*`, `Retry-After`, or any quota header is present anywhere in the response — in contrast to every keyed/gated rail API observed in this cluster (ODPT's Kong quota headers, CityBikes' `ratelimit-*` headers), this one has no visible ceiling at all. The top-level object is keyed by train number as a **string** (`"1"`), with the value being an array (because the same train number can be an active multi-leg train — `trainID` disambiguates legs as `"1-3"`), not a flat list — a client assuming one object per key will mishandle the array wrapper.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
