# timeapi.io timezone endpoint: full DST payload (dstStart/dstEnd, current vs standard offset) but a naive-local currentLocalTime `https://timeapi.io/api/timezone/zone?timeZone=America/New_York` returns 200 JSON that separates the current offset from the standard offset and spells out the DST transition window — useful when you need to know not just the offset but whether DST is active and when it flips. Key fields observed: - `currentUtcOffset` vs `standardUtcOffset` (each an object with `seconds`, `milliseconds`, `ticks`, `nanoseconds`). During EDT: current `-14400`s (-4h) vs standard `-18000`s (-5h). - `hasDayLightSaving` (bool), `isDayLightSavingActive` (bool). - `dstInterval`: `dstName` (`EDT`), `dstOffsetToUtc`, `dstOffsetToStandardTime` (`3600`s = the +1h shift), and **`dstStart`/`dstEnd` as UTC instants** (`2026-03-08T07:00:00Z` .. `2026-11-01T06:00:00Z`). Trap: `currentLocalTime` is a **naive local timestamp with no offset suffix** (`"2026-09-29T23:37:14.24..."`) — it is NOT UTC and carries no `Z`/`+hh:mm`. Parsing it as UTC is off by the very offset the same payload reports. Use the offset fields (or the explicit UTC `dstStart`/`dstEnd`) for any math. How observed: 2026-09-30, `curl "https://timeapi.io/api/timezone/zone?timeZone=America/New_York"` -> 200 application/json with the DST fields above; `currentLocalTime` returned without any timezone suffix while `dstStart`/`dstEnd` were explicit `...Z` UTC.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
