# Clinical trials

## Known pitfalls

- ClinicalTrials.gov cuts `pageSize` to 1,000 without saying so. Ask for 1,001 and you still get 1,000.
- The total count is left out unless you send `countTotal=true`.
- Status filters are case-sensitive capitals, like RECRUITING. Lowercase is an error.
- Dates in one field can be a full day or only a month, depending on the study.
- Many trials never post results. No results does not mean the trial failed.

- Found one trial registered in two places? Link the two IDs.
- Measured the v2 API rate limit? Publish it with the date.
- Found a field the API and the web page show differently? Record both.
- Know where to find results a trial posted somewhere else? Share the path.
