# Delete a ticket trigger — Zendesk

1. In Admin Center, click **Objects and rules** in the sidebar, then select **Business rules → Triggers**.
2. Click the **Tickets** tab.
3. If the trigger is still active, deactivate it first; in the **Status** drop-down at the top of the triggers list, select **Inactive**.
4. Next to the trigger to delete, click the options menu icon and select **Delete**.
5. In the confirmation dialog, click **Delete trigger**.

End state: the trigger is permanently removed and can't be retrieved; triggers must be deactivated before they can be deleted. Accidentally deleted standard triggers can be rebuilt.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
