# Merge a user's duplicate account — Zendesk

1. In Support, click **Customers** in the sidebar (or open a user's profile from one of their tickets).
2. Search for the user and click their name.
3. Click the **User options** menu in the upper right, then select **Merge into another user**.
4. Enter the target user's name, select the correct match, then click **Merge**.
5. When prompted, click **Confirm and Merge**.

End state: the merging user's tickets and email identities move onto the target account; tags, notes, and user fields on the merged-away account are dropped. The merge can't be undone, and both accounts must be end users with fewer than 10,000 tickets each.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
