# Bulk change multiple work items — Jira

1. Select **Search**, then **View all work items**, and adjust the search criteria to list the work items to change.
2. Select **More actions (•••)** and choose **Bulk Change all <n> work items**.
3. Select the work items to include, then select **Next**.
4. Choose an operation: **Edit work items**, **Transition work items**, **Delete work items**, or **Watch/Stop Watching work items**, then **Next**.
5. Set the values or fields for that operation (and decide on email notifications), then **Next**.
6. Review the summary and select **Confirm**.

End state: the chosen change is applied to every selected work item at once. Requires the global **Make bulk changes** permission plus the relevant project permission (Edit, Transition, or Resolve issues); by default, at most 1,000 work items can be changed in one bulk operation.
