# Rotate a project's DSN (client key) — Sentry

1. Go to **Settings → Projects → [project] → Client Keys (DSN)**.
2. Click **Add New Client Key** to create a replacement DSN, and copy it.
3. Update the application's `Sentry.init()` call (or equivalent SDK config) with the new DSN and deploy it.
4. Once the old deployment is gone (or traffic on the old key has dropped to zero), return to the Client Keys (DSN) page and delete the old key.

End state: events sent with the compromised or retired DSN stop being accepted once the old key is deleted, while the new key keeps ingesting events without interruption.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
