# Delete a monitor — Datadog

1. Go to the **Monitor List** page.
2. Select one or more monitors with the checkboxes (or hover over a single monitor to reveal its row actions).
3. Click **Delete** (above the search results for a bulk delete, or on the hovered row for one monitor).

End state: the monitor is removed and stops evaluating/alerting; this is distinct from muting, which only silences notifications temporarily.

Source: vendor documentation as of 2026-11-03 (doc date not shown); not observed in a live UI.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
