# Disable a user — Datadog

1. Go to the **Users** tab of **Organization Settings** (requires the Access Management permission, such as the Datadog Admin role).
2. Click **Edit** on the right of the user's row.
3. Click the **Disable** toggle.

End state: the user can no longer sign in and all of their application keys and personal access tokens are revoked; Datadog doesn't support permanently deleting a user, since their user ID stays attached to dashboards, monitors, and other objects they authored. Disabled users are filtered out of the default Users list but can be found (and re-enabled) by filtering on status **Disabled**.
