# Close a subaccount — Twilio Console

1. As the Account Owner, visit the **Subaccounts** page under **Manage Account**.
2. Click the subaccount's name to open it.
3. Go to its **General Settings**, and confirm the subaccount's name and SID match the one to close.
4. Click the **Close subaccount** link lower on the page.
5. Work through the acknowledgement checklist, then click **Close subaccount**.

End state: Twilio releases every phone number in the subaccount; if automatic deletion of closed subaccounts is enabled, all subaccount data is deleted 30 days after closure.
