# Reset a user's password — Salesforce Setup

1. In Lightning Experience, click the gear icon → **Setup** → **Users** (under Administration) → **Users**. (In Salesforce Classic: **Setup → Administer → Manage Users → Users**.)
2. Select the checkbox next to the user, then click **Reset Password**.

End state: the user receives an email with a link and instructions to set a new password; resetting the password also resets the user's security token, and Salesforce emails the user the new token. Admins can repeat this as often as needed.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
