# Unlock a locked-out user — Salesforce Setup

1. From Setup, enter **Users** in the Quick Find box, then select **Users**.
2. Select the locked user.
3. Click **Unlock** (this button appears only when the user is currently locked out, after the org's maximum failed-login-attempts threshold was reached).

End state: the user's failed-login counter resets and they can sign in again; requires the "Manage Internal Users" permission.
