# Require re-registration of MFA — Microsoft Entra admin center

1. Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center (entra.microsoft.com) as at least an **Authentication Administrator**.
2. Browse to **Entra ID → Users**.
3. Choose the user and select **Authentication methods**.
4. At the top of the window, select **Require re-register MFA**.

End state: hardware OATH tokens are deactivated and phone numbers, Microsoft Authenticator app registrations, and software OATH tokens are deleted from the user; they are prompted to set up a new MFA method on next sign-in.
