# Reset a user's password — Microsoft Entra admin center

1. Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center (entra.microsoft.com) as at least an **Authentication Administrator**.
2. Browse to **Entra ID → Users**.
3. Choose the user and select **Authentication methods**.
4. At the top of the window, select **Reset password**.

End state: the user's password is reset and a temporary password is assigned that must be changed on the next sign-in.
