# Mailchimp: archive contacts

## Steps
1. Click Audience, then select the audience if there are multiple.
2. On the Contacts page, check the boxes next to the contacts to archive, or use the Email Address dropdown's Select all / Select visible.
3. Click Archive.
4. In the confirmation modal, type ARCHIVE and click Archive.

## End state
The contacts move from the active contact table to a separate archived-contacts table, removed from the audience and its sends without losing their data; a success message reports how many were archived. (From a segment: select all in the segment preview, Actions → Archive, type ARCHIVE, confirm.)

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
