# DigitalOcean control panel: add a Cloud Firewall rule

## Steps
1. Open the Cloud Firewall's rules page.
2. In the Inbound rules section, click Add inbound rule (or Add outbound rule in Outbound rules).
3. Set the type, port range, sources (or destinations), and action.
4. Click Add inbound rule / Add outbound rule to save it.

## End state
The new rule is added to the firewall and applies immediately to every Droplet or resource the firewall is attached to.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
