# Heroku Dashboard: transfer app ownership

## Steps
1. Click the Settings tab of the application.
2. Scroll to the Transfer Ownership section.
3. Click the Choose app owner field and select the destination account or team.
4. Click Transfer app.

## End state
The app moves to the chosen account or team; the original owner becomes a collaborator on the app. Only the current owner (or a user with manage permission) can initiate this.
