# Neon console: delete a branch

## Steps
1. In the Neon Console, select the project, then open the branch overview page.
2. Open the three-dot (⋮) menu for the branch to remove.
3. Select Delete.
4. On the confirmation dialog, click Delete.

## End state
The branch and its compute are removed. A branch with child branches, or a project's root/default branch, cannot be deleted this way.
