# MongoDB Atlas: scale a cluster's tier

## Steps
1. In Atlas, select the organization and project, then click Clusters under the Database heading.
2. For the cluster to modify, click the ⋮ (three-dot menu) and select Edit Configuration.
3. In the Cluster Tier section, select the new tier (can't scale below M10).
4. Click Review Changes to see current vs. new settings and any downtime/billing warnings.
5. Click Apply Changes.

## End state
Atlas reboots all nodes to apply the new tier; the cluster shows the new tier once the change completes (NVMe storage requires an initial sync).

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
