# Auth0 Dashboard: rotate a client secret

## Steps
1. Go to Applications → Applications and select the application.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page to the Danger Zone section.
3. Click Rotate and confirm the action.
4. Switch to the Credentials tab.
5. In the Client Secret field, select the eye icon to view the new secret.
6. Update all authorized applications with the newly generated secret value.

## End state
The application has a newly generated client secret; the previous secret stops working for new token requests once rotation completes.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
