# Okta Admin Console: unassign an application from a user

## Steps
1. In the Admin Console, go to Directory → People.
2. Find the user (search by name/email/username, or use Advanced Search).
3. Click the user's name in the Person & Username column.
4. In the Unassign Application dialog, click the X next to the application.
5. Click OK to confirm the removal.

## End state
The app is removed from the user's My Apps page. Note: if the user holds the app through group membership, the group assignment must be removed/unassigned instead for this to take effect.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
