# Linear: set an issue's parent (convert it to a sub-issue)

## Steps
1. Select one or multiple issues to convert.
2. Open the command menu (**Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + P**).
3. Choose the action to set the parent issue.
4. Select which issue should become the parent.
5. (Alternative) Hover over the issue and use the contextual **...** menu → **Set Parent**.

## End state
The selected issue(s) become sub-issues nested under the chosen parent issue.
