# Notion: lock a page to prevent editing

## Steps
1. Select **•••** at the top of the page.
2. Toggle on **Lock page**.

## End state
The page becomes immediately read-only for everyone; "Locked" appears next to the page name in the top breadcrumb menu. Anyone with full or edit access can turn it off again from the same breadcrumb (Unlock for me / Unlock for everyone). For databases, a separate Lock database toggle restricts view/property edits while still allowing data edits.
