# Slack: remove a member from a channel

## Steps
1. Open the channel you'd like to remove someone from.
2. Click the cluster of profile pictures in the top right.
3. Hover over the person you'd like to remove.
4. Next to their name, click the three-dots icon and select **Remove from channel**.
5. Click **Remove** to confirm.

## End state
The person is removed from the channel and Slack notifies them. They (and any guest) must be re-added to rejoin a private channel.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
