# Airtable: manage workspace collaborators

## Steps (upgrade/downgrade an existing collaborator's permission)
1. Open your Airtable account overview.
2. Select the workspace whose collaborators you want to change, under the "Workspace settings" section.
3. Click "Add or manage workspace collaborators" under the "Billable collaborators" section.
4. Click > in the section below "People with access" to open the collaborator management window.
5. Select the checkbox next to the collaborator(s) to change.
6. Click the ⌄ icon under the "Permission" column and choose the new permission level.

Only users with "Owner" permissions for a workspace can manage its collaborators. Adding an Owner, Creator, or Editor to a workspace is billable on paid plans; workspace owners are charged immediately when a collaborator's role is upgraded to a billable one.

## End state
The collaborator's permission level (Owner/Creator/Editor/Commenter/Read-only, plan-dependent) is updated workspace-wide, and billing reflects the change at the next renewal.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
