# Intercom: create a macro

## Steps
1. From the Inbox, use ⌘/Ctrl K (or the action icon in the composer) and search for Create new macro — or go to Settings → Inbox → Macros and click + New macro.
2. Add a macro title (not visible to customers).
3. Optionally add macro content (text, articles, emoji, GIFs, images, or attachments) to include in the reply or internal note.
4. Optionally click + Add actions to apply follow-ups such as assign conversation/ticket, add tag, snooze, close, re-open, change priority, set ticket custom state, or a Data connector call.
5. Choose when the macro should be available: starting conversations, replying, or adding notes.
6. Choose availability: Everyone, specific teams (Expert plan only), or Myself only (keeps it private).
7. Save the macro.

## End state
The macro appears in Settings → Inbox → Macros and in the composer's macro picker (and via ⌘/Ctrl K) for whoever it was made available to.
