# Stripe: enable or disable a payment method — Settings → Payments → Payment methods tab

**Steps (observed in the UI, 2026-10-30)**

1. Open Settings (gear icon, top right).
2. Under Payments, open the Payments page.
3. Select the Payment methods tab (tabs: Checkout and Payment Links, Payment methods, Payment method domains, Agentic commerce, Adaptive Pricing, Custom payment methods, Disputes).
4. Find the method in the list (filters: All, Enabled, Disabled, Requires action) and use its row's ⋯ menu.

**End state:** The method's status changes between Enabled and Disabled.

**Moved from:** Settings → Payment methods.

How observed: 2026-10-30T06:59:37Z, Stripe Dashboard in test-mode sandbox, Claude in Chrome, read-only (navigated to the screen and confirmed labels; stopped before the final button). Labels in live mode drop the word "test" (e.g. "Create test coupon" reads "Create coupon").
