# Google Cloud Console: increase the size of a persistent disk (repeat task)

## Steps
1. Go to **Compute Engine** → **Disks** and click the disk's name.
2. On the disk details page, click **Edit** (via the three-dot **More actions** menu if not directly visible).
3. In the **Size** field, enter the new capacity in GiB (MBR-formatted disks cap at 2 TB).
4. Click **Save**.

## End state
The disk list shows the new, larger size; the resize completes without requiring VM downtime (the OS/filesystem still needs to be told to use the extra space).

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
