# Google Cloud Console: revoke an IAM role binding from a principal (repeat task)

## Steps
1. Go to the **IAM** page and select the project, folder, or organization.
2. Find the row for the principal whose access to remove.
3. Click the **Edit principal** (pencil) icon on that row.
4. Find the role to revoke and click **Delete** next to it.
5. Click **Save**.

## End state
The principal no longer has that role on the resource; inherited roles cannot be edited here and must be revoked at the resource where they were originally granted.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
