# Google Cloud Console: view quota usage and request a quota increase (repeat task)

## Steps
1. Go to **IAM & Admin** → **Quotas & System Limits**.
2. Use **Filter** to search by service name (for example "BigQuery API") and review the Current usage / Current usage percentage columns.
3. Select the checkbox next to the quota to adjust, then click **Edit**.
4. Enter the new value in the **New value** field (select a unit if applicable); for increases beyond the indicated limit, select **Apply for higher quota**.
5. Fill in the request description and contact details if prompted, then click **Submit request**.

## End state
The request is submitted; pending quotas show a Pending icon, and you get an email acknowledging receipt followed by an approval/denial notice.
