# AWS Console: view CloudTrail Event history (repeat task)

## Steps
1. Open the CloudTrail console → **Event history** in the navigation pane.
2. The list shows events with the default filter "Read only" = false; choose the **X** on that filter to clear it if desired.
3. Choose an attribute from the lookup drop-down (for example **Event name** or **Event source**) and enter a value to filter.
4. Choose a time range (Relative or Absolute) in the time range bar.
5. Choose an event's name to open its details, including the JSON event record.

## End state
Event history shows up to the last 90 days of management events for the Region; results can be downloaded as CSV or JSON (up to 200,000 events per file) via Download events.
