# AWS Console: empty an S3 bucket (delete all objects) (repeat task)

## Steps
1. Open the Amazon S3 console → **General purpose buckets**.
2. Select the option next to the bucket to empty, then choose **Empty**.
3. On the "Empty bucket" page, type the bucket name into the confirmation field, then choose **Empty**.
4. Monitor progress on the "Empty bucket: Status" page.

## End state
All objects (including all versions and delete markers, if versioning is on) are deleted; the (now-empty) bucket itself still exists and can be deleted separately. This cannot be undone.
