# AWS Console: reboot an EC2 instance (repeat task)

## Steps
1. Open the Amazon EC2 console → **Instances**.
2. Select the instance, then choose **Instance state** → **Reboot instance**.
3. Choose **Reboot** when prompted to confirm.

## End state
The instance remains in the running state throughout (equivalent to an OS reboot); it keeps its DNS/IP addresses and instance-store data, and does not start a new billing period.
