# Airtable: create an automation

## Steps
1. Open the Airtable homepage and select the base.
2. Click Automations.
3. Click Create new…
4. Choose Create automation to build from scratch (or Browse automation catalog for AI-suggested automations based on the base's data).
5. Click + Add trigger to configure the starting event.
6. Add one or more actions to run when the trigger fires.

## End state
The automation runs whenever its trigger condition is met, executing its configured actions against the base's records.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
