# Mailchimp: create a tag from the contact table

## Steps
1. Click Audience and select the audience (if more than one exists).
2. Check the boxes next to the contacts to tag.
3. Click Tag contacts.
4. Enter a name in the search field to find an existing tag or create a new one by typing a name not already in the list.
5. Click the Choose action drop-down and select Add tags.
6. Click Apply.

## End state
The tag is created (if new) and applied to the selected contacts; tags can also be filtered with the "Filter by tags" drop-down in the contacts view, and added via signup forms or contact import instead of this manual path.
