# Mailchimp: create a marketing automation flow (Customer Journey)

## Steps
1. Click the Automations icon from the main dashboard.
2. Click Build from scratch.
3. Enter a Name for the flow.
4. Choose an Audience from the dropdown.
5. Click Choose a trigger and select the starting event, then Save Trigger.
6. Click Continue.
7. Add steps by dragging rules/actions from the side panel onto the flow map, or using the + icon (email sends, conditional splits, time delays, tagging, SMS actions, etc.).
8. Click Turn flow on.

## End state
The flow runs live against contacts matching its trigger; a legacy "Classic Automation" builder remains available as an older alternative path for the same job.
