# SendGrid: create an unsubscribe (suppression) group

## Steps
1. Go to Marketing → Unsubscribe Groups.
2. Click Create New Group.
3. Enter a Group Name and a Group Description.
4. Optionally check "Display this group on your unsubscribe preferences page".
5. Click Save Unsubscribe Group.

## End state
The group is listed under Unsubscribe Groups and can be referenced on sends (via `asm.group_id`) so recipients who unsubscribe from it stop receiving mail tagged with that group specifically, rather than all mail.
