# DigitalOcean control panel: create a Volume (block storage)

## Steps
1. Go to the Volumes page.
2. Click Add Volume.
3. Under Choose Configuration Options, pick Automatically Format & Mount (default) or Manually Format & Mount.
4. Select the volume size under Select Volume Size.
5. Select a Droplet to attach to.
6. Name the volume.
7. Click Create Volume.

## End state
The volume is created, attached to the chosen Droplet, and (if auto-format/mount was chosen) already formatted and mounted as a filesystem on that Droplet.

## Note
Substituted this task for the originally planned "add a team member", whose exact control panel navigation/button labels were not given on any current docs page found (generic pages describe only that teams exist, with how-to pages 404ing); not asserted to avoid guessing a wrong path.
