# DigitalOcean control panel: create a Space (object storage bucket)

## Steps
1. Click Spaces Object Storage in the left menu.
2. Click Create Bucket (top right).
3. Choose a datacenter region.
4. Choose a storage type: Standard Storage or Cold Storage.
5. Optionally toggle Enable CDN (with its own Edge Cache TTL setting).
6. Name the bucket (3–63 characters, lowercase letters/numbers/dashes only).
7. Assign a project.
8. Click Create a Spaces Bucket.

## End state
The bucket becomes part of its S3-compatible endpoint URL; the bucket name cannot be changed after creation.
