# Render Dashboard: create a PostgreSQL database

## Steps
1. Go to dashboard.render.com/new/database, or click + New → Postgres in the Dashboard.
2. Enter a Name; optionally set the Database and/or User fields (Render generates values if left blank).
3. Choose a Region (match the services that will connect).
4. Optionally change the PostgreSQL Version (major versions 13–18 supported for new instances).
5. Select a compute plan.
6. Set initial storage in GB (1 GB or multiples of 5 GB); optionally enable Storage Autoscaling (auto-grows by 50%, rounded up to the nearest 5 GB, at 90% full).
7. Click Create Database.

## End state
The database provisions and its Info page shows internal/external connection strings for linking services.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
