# Render Dashboard: create a new Web Service

## Steps
1. In the Render Dashboard, click New → Web Service.
2. Select a Git Provider (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket), connecting the account if needed, and select a repository.
3. Fill in the form: Name, Region, Build Command (e.g. `npm install`, `pip install -r requirements.txt`), and Start Command (e.g. `npm start`, `gunicorn your_application.wsgi`).
4. Choose an Instance Type.
5. Optionally expand Advanced to set environment variables/secrets, add a persistent disk, or set a health check path.
6. Click Create Web Service.

## End state
Render starts the service's first build and deploy; subsequent pushes to the connected branch trigger new builds automatically.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
