# Heroku Dashboard: provision an add-on

## Steps
1. Open the app and go to its Resources tab.
2. Use the add-on search box (backed by the Elements Marketplace) to find an add-on by name or category.
3. Select the add-on and choose a plan.
4. Confirm provisioning.

## End state
The add-on appears on the Resources tab with its plan, global add-on name, and cost; metered add-ons show current-period usage and per-meter pricing on the same tab. The Heroku CLI (`heroku addons:create`) is the alternative path.
