# Heroku Dashboard: add a config var

## Steps
1. Open the app's dashboard page.
2. Go to the Settings tab.
3. Scroll to the Config Vars section and click Reveal Config Vars.
4. Enter the variable name in the KEY field and its value in the VALUE field.
5. Click Add.

## End state
The config var is listed (masked by default behind Reveal Config Vars) and is injected as an environment variable into the app's dynos; the Heroku CLI (`heroku config:set`) is the alternative path.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
