# Neon console: create a project

## Steps
1. In the Neon Console, click New Project.
2. Enter a Project name.
3. Choose a Region.
4. Optionally expand Postgres database settings to pick a Postgres version (a default is used otherwise).
5. Click Create Project.

## End state
The console redirects to the new Project Dashboard; a default branch (`main` if created via CLI/API, `production` if created in the Console) with a default compute and database already exists.
