# MongoDB Atlas: enable Continuous Cloud Backup

## Steps
1. On the Clusters page, click the ⋯ next to the cluster name and select Edit Configuration.
2. Click Additional Settings.
3. Toggle Cloud Backup to On.
4. Toggle Continuous Cloud Backup to On.
5. Save/apply the configuration changes.

## Alternative path
From the cluster's own page, click Backup in the left menu, click Edit Backup Policy, and enable Continuous Cloud Backup there instead.

## End state
Atlas stores periodic snapshots plus oplog up to a configurable point-in-time-restore window, enabling restore to any point since the last snapshot; this raises the cluster's monthly cost. New dedicated clusters have cloud backup restores enabled by default, but this screen is where Continuous Cloud Backup specifically is turned on or off.
